Spark Mapping is our approach to setting out information - such as procedures, decision processes or rules - in a structured and logical way.

Your Spark Map replaces the programming code traditionally required to generate a software application. This means that you don't need programming skills to build and deploy your decision trees or rules. In fact, when you draw and publish a Spark Map, Firefly automatically converts it into a sophisticated software application, or Spark.

Taking decision trees to a new dimension

Like decision trees or flow charts, Spark Maps enable you to:

Define, analyze and improve the steps in a process or decision
Concentrate on the logic and/or process one step at a time without getting bogged down by the bigger picture
Communicate in an easy-to-understand format how a task or procedure should be carried out

Uniquely, Spark Maps:

Automatically generate powerful, user-friendly software applications (Spark applications) which ensure that the steps in the process are always followed correctly, with routes and outcomes recorded as an audit trail each time they are used
Allow you to embed data capture and manipulation - such as data input forms or numeric output reports
Enable you to test the process thoroughly before circulating or deploying it
Enable you to 'role-play' your processes or rules in order to check the right outcomes are reached every time in a way that would not be possible with a simple flow chart or decision tree

A series of 9 tutorials guides you through getting started, to using the full range of Firefly features, which enable you to create powerful Sparks.

	Red belt Gives you the basic skills needed to create simple Sparks
	Green belt Gives you the skills to add many useful functions to your Sparks
	Blue belt Enables you to master some advanced concepts in how to use Firefly (usually after you've got some experience of building real-life Sparks)
	Black belt Is designed for our partners and other advanced/experienced users of Firefly

Certification scheme:
Because creating Sparks is a valuable skill, which will contribute to your personal and professional development, we've set up a free certification scheme which you may choose to take part in.

Training courses

Basic training workshop (from $500/£300 for a single trainee) - spend 1.5 hours with one of our Spark experts, who will guide you round the main elements involved in building Spark applications, explain how things work and show you where to get help should you need it. For authors and/or administrators

Advanced Spark training (from $500/£300 for a single trainee) - once you've built some Sparks, take our advanced training module and get a Spark expert's coaching on your applications and personalized coaching on how to develop your design skills
