Firestorm - summary

Firestorm allows multiple sets of data to be run through a rules engine. Firestorm can therefore be used to test applications produced using our other products or to develop specialist applications, for example in the movement and conversion of data.

Typical applications for Firestorm include:
  • Data validation and testing - e.g., using a large data set to ensure a Spark Application is compliant with rules and regulations
  • Extract Transform Load (ETL) – e.g. moving data from a source application to a target application where the data must undergo some transformation before being loaded into the target.

Features

Easy to use
The subject expert builds powerful data manipulation tools without programming using a simple, visual, drag and drop interface. You simply draw the audit process as a decision tree or Spark Map which automatically generates powerful data audit applications

Easy to modify or update
The subject expert can change the rules simply by editing the Spark Map using the same, simple, visual interface.

Audit large amounts of data from diverse databases

Firestorm tools can rapidly test and manipulate large volumes of data from diverse databases simultaneously.

Improves productivity
Firestorm tools exactly replicate the specialist skills of the subject expert and automate the testing of high volumes of data, which would otherwise have to be carried out manually by highly-skilled staff.

Improves accuracy

Firestorm tools ensure that each data record is consistently tested according to the rules defined in the Spark Map - leaving no room for human error.

Save time and money

Firestorm tools can save many staff hours which would otherwise be spent on manual tasks. Easy-to-access audit trails Built-in audit trails record all decisions and corrections made by Firestorm tools.

Easy to link into other databases
Web services and industry standards mean that data can readily be input to or output from Firestorm.

Developing and Deploying Firestorm

  1. Draw decision tree - Using drag-and-drop, simply draw the rules or logic as a decision tree - we call this a Spark Map.
  2. Publish as rules engine - The Spark Map automatically generates a logic module or rules engine that can be 'plugged' into databases or applications.
  3. Run rules against data - Firestorm can connect to external databases and test and correct the data according to your rules - keeping an audit trail if needed.
  4. Monitor/audit results - Firestorm keeps a complete, easy-to-access audit trail of how the audit/interrogation rules are executed.
